Power Plant

Been reading in the paper about the new power plant coming to wise county. You would think this is good for the people of the area, more jobs, more coal related jobs that is. But low and behold one county resident is against it, as he is against every thing that is brought up in the county. Mr. Larry Bush of exeter is against anything that has a coal relationship. As I understand it, he once was an inspector for either the state or federal goverment, I wonder, during his employment with the either agency, how many rubber stamps he approved for mining permits. That check he receives each month from retirement, Im guessing hes retired, since he has so much time to criticize everything put before the public, is paid by taxpayers that work in the coal industry. Get a life Bush.

if he hates everything coal related then why in the #$!! does he live in exeter lol and yes it would be good for the region for more job, this is turing out like the prisons where back in the 90's untill people found out that like half of the people in wise county work at them now

I watched some of the board meeting. First off, if the guy ever reads this forum. He would do a lot better than sitting there pointing his finger and saying 'you people' to the BOS. If I was on the board, and some 'citizen' came in and tried to talk down to me, I wouldn't pay that much attention to him. Now if someone treats me with respect, I'd respect them back, but he doesn't do that.

Now then, I understand a lot of environmental questions about this power plant, and I appreciate people being concerned and wanting to make sure that things are handled properly, but I also understand that we need jobs in this area. We may have to give a bit to get a bit, something that you would think someone who screams hellfire to keep a school open, would comprehend.

It's funny, not so long back he was screaming about all the coal money coming out of Appy, but everytime he turns around, he is complaining about coal trucks, mines, etc. It honestly comes off like one of those people who gets most everything handed to them (translation--on the draw), and then complains that they don't get exactly what they want.
